Kevin E. Fields, Sr. is President and Chief Executive Officer of Louisville Central Community Centers, Inc. (LCCC), where he leads transformative initiatives that advance equity through early child development, youth development, economic mobility, community development, and cultural enrichment. With a career spanning over 40 years, in civil engineering, urban planning, public policy, and organizational leadership, Fields is nationally recognized as a visionary organizational leader and community development expert.
A Louisville native, Fields grew up in the Sheppard Square and Beecher Terrace public housing communities and began his lifelong connection to LCCC as a youth participant. He later earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Public Administration in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Louisville.
His early career included engineering compliance roles with the Regional Airport Authority of Louisville and the Jefferson County Health Department. During his 14-year tenure with the Housing Authority of Louisville, Fields directed housing maintenance operations, special programs, and resident services, transformed operations into a nationally recognized “high performer,” and led the design and development of the Mabel Wiggins Family Investment Center.
From 2000 to 2011, Fields advanced at the Louisville Urban League from project management consultant to Vice President of Programs, where he established best-practice youth, family, and workforce development initiatives, developed multiple grant initiatives, and launched innovative construction pre-apprenticeship and digital literacy programs.
Fields has been instrumental in several of Louisville’s most impactful revitalization efforts, including co-leading planning of the Park DuValle Neighborhood Revitalization, shaping the Vision Russell Neighborhood Transformation Plan, guiding the Ali Boulevard Arts and Culture Corridor Plan, and now advancing the Re-Imagining the Mini-Versity Innovation Infusion Plan, which aims to integrate early learning with maternal and pediatric health services. At LCCC, he is also driving development of the Grand Lyric Theater project, a new, state-of-the-art performing and media arts venue.
Beyond his executive work, Fields serves with the West End Opportunity Partnership, Louisville Branch NAACP, Rotary Club of Louisville, Waterfront Development Corporation, Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, and the National Forum of Black Public Administrators. He is a candidate to achieve a Doctor of Education in Leadership at Spalding University in 2025. Fields is married to Sherry B. Fields, and they are proud parents of Kevin Jr.
